Privacy policy

1. Who we are

This website, chipperycuriousvalt.bond, is published by Halcyon Circuit Media Ltd, Unit 4, Vantage House, 62 Ashcombe Row, Digbeth, Birmingham B5 6QN, United Kingdom. For the purposes of United Kingdom data protection law we are the data controller for personal data processed through this website. Privacy questions and rights requests should be sent to [email protected], which reaches the person responsible for data protection at the company. General editorial correspondence should go to [email protected].

2. What we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Information you send us. If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, the subject you selected and the content of your message, together with anything else you choose to include.
  • Technical information. Our hosting infrastructure records standard server log data when a page is requested, including IP address, request time, the page requested, referring address, and browser and operating system identifiers.
  • Cookie and analytics data. Where you have agreed to non-essential cookies, we may collect aggregated information about pages viewed and how visitors arrive at the site. Details are in the cookie policy.

We do not ask for special category data, we do not operate accounts or logins, and we do not sell personal data to anyone.

3. Why we process it, and our legal bases

Under the UK GDPR we rely on the following legal bases. Consent for non-essential cookies and any analytics that depend on them; you may withdraw it at any time. Legitimate interests for replying to enquiries, keeping the site secure and available, preventing abuse, and understanding in general terms which content is useful — balanced against your rights and interests. Legal obligation where we must retain or disclose information to comply with the law.

4. Cookies

Essential storage keeps the site working and remembers the choice you make in the cookie banner. Analytics and functional cookies are set only if you accept them. The banner lets you accept everything, reject everything non-essential, or set categories individually, and browser controls can be used to block or delete cookies independently of our banner.

5. Sharing and processors

We share personal data only with service providers who process it on our instructions, under written terms, and only to the extent needed. These fall into three categories: website hosting and content delivery, email delivery and mailbox services, and, where enabled, website analytics. We may also disclose information where required by law, by a court order, or to establish or defend legal claims. We do not disclose your details to advertisers.

6. International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we rely on the transfer mechanisms permitted by UK data protection law — an adequacy decision covering the destination country, or contractual safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the European Commission's standard contractual clauses — together with any additional measures the circumstances require.

7. Visitors outside the United Kingdom

Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies to a visitor in the European Economic Area, we handle their data on the same basis and honour the equivalent rights. Where a visitor is a California resident with rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, they may request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected and the purposes for collection, request deletion, and are entitled not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

8. Retention

Correspondence is kept for as long as needed to deal with the matter and to keep a record of what was said, and is then deleted. Server logs are held for a short operational period for security and troubleshooting before being discarded or aggregated. Analytics data, where collected, is kept in aggregated form that does not identify individuals. Any personal data we no longer have a purpose for is deleted.

9. Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection. Access to correspondence is limited to the people who need it, and administrative access to publishing systems is restricted and protected. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the limited data we hold.

10. Your rights

Subject to the conditions in the legislation, you have the right to be informed about how your data is used; to request access to a copy of it; to have inaccurate data corrected; to request erasure; to restrict processing; to data portability; to object to processing based on legitimate interests; and to withdraw consent where consent is the basis. To exercise any of these, write to [email protected]. We may need to confirm your identity before acting, and we will respond within the statutory period.

11. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please tell us first so that we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the United Kingdom's supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk. Visitors in the European Economic Area may complain to their own national supervisory authority.

12. Children

This site is written for a general adult readership. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

13. External links

Pages on this site link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and their own policies will apply once you leave this site.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the site, our providers or the law. The version published here is the one that applies, and material changes will be reflected in the text rather than announced separately.
